What we do
Five services covering the full life of a system — from working out what to build, through building it, to keeping it running afterwards. Most projects use two or three, and we will tell you which ones you do not need.
Line-of-business systems, internal tools and operational software built around how your team really works. We design the busiest screen first — the full queue, the exception, the three-thousand-row table — because that is where the software lives once it ships.
Web platforms, portals and mobile apps, from design system to app store. Accessibility and performance are part of the build rather than a later audit, because retrofitting either one costs more than doing it properly the first time.
Pipelines, warehouses and the integration work that makes separate systems behave like one. Most reporting problems turn out to be data-modelling problems, so we start with the model rather than the dashboard.
Incremental migrations for software that has to keep trading while it changes. Service by service, behind feature flags, with every step reversible — a migration you cannot roll back is not a plan.
Ongoing development, security patching and a response time you can put in front of your board. We would rather keep improving something we understand than hand over a codebase and disappear.
1–2 weeks
A fixed-scope assessment of where you are and what the work really involves. Ends in a findings report and a scope we both believe. Often enough on its own to unblock a stalled project.
8–16 weeks typical
The usual shape. Fixed scope, two-week sprints, working software at the end of each one, with handover built into the final sprint rather than bolted on afterwards.
Rolling, 3-month minimum
For long modernisation programmes and ongoing product work where the destination moves. Same team every month, predictable cost, one month's notice to stop.
We quote once we know what the work actually involves, which is what Discovery is for — fixed price where the scope allows it, time-and-materials where it honestly does not. Tell us where you are and we will put a number on it.
1–2 weeks
We work out where you actually are, which is rarely where the brief says. Stakeholder interviews, a read through the existing codebase, and an honest look at the analytics and the incident history.
You receive
Findings report and a scope we both believe
2–3 weeks
The whole system on one page before any of it gets built: user flows, the states that matter, service boundaries, and the risks we can name up front. This is the cheapest point to change your mind.
You receive
Designs, technical architecture and a risk register
8–16 weeks typical
Two-week sprints, each ending in something you can click on a staging environment. No status decks — you see the real thing running against real data, or the sprint did not finish.
You receive
Working software every two weeks
1–2 weeks
Staged rollout behind feature flags, load testing before you need it, and monitoring configured before go-live rather than after the first incident.
You receive
Production launch, dashboards and alerting
Ongoing
Documentation written for the engineer who inherits this, training sessions with your team, and an SLA if you want one. If your team cannot maintain it after we leave, we did not finish the job.
You receive
Documentation, training and optional SLA
Start a project
That is the normal starting position, and it is what Discovery exists to answer. Tell us where you are and we will say which of these is worth paying for.
